Results: Dental Veneers May Not Be Right For You

Thank you for answering all of our questions.

After reviewing your responses, it looks like dental veneers may not be the best option for you at this time.

Dental veneers is a process that draws on the expertise of a highly-skilled dentist and a master ceramist. Each veneer is made out of porcelain, and fully customized to match the shade and shape you desire for each tooth. The resistance and durability of porcelain allow you to transform your smile for decades to come. For all of these reasons, porcelain dental veneers require a significant financial investment that insurance doesn't cover.

How Much Do Veneers Cost?

Before you commit to veneers, it’s essential to understand how much they cost. As we mentioned, insurance usually doesn’t cover veneers, so you can expect to pay full price for your new smile. Here’s a cost breakdown:

Porcelain Veneers: Generally cost $1800 to $3000 per tooth, but cost also depends on the expertise of the dental professional, lab fees, and geographical location. These factors can bring the cost upwards of $35,000 – $40,000 for a full set of porcelain veneers.

Consider the following points to determine if you are a good candidate for veneers.

  • You have good oral health. This means that your gums and teeth are healthy enough to undergo the treatment.

  • You wish to remove stains or discoloration on teeth that do not respond well to teeth whitening treatments.

  • You wish to correct stains caused by old fillings or past tooth decay.

  • You wish to correct some minor imperfections such as cracks chips or misshapen teeth.

  • There are several cosmetic issues that you would like to correct at once such as whitening and straightening a full set of teeth in one procedure.

  • Have sufficient tooth enamel to create a strong bond with veneer.

  • Your teeth are straight or at least moderately straight.

  • You aren't missing multiple teeth.

  • You regularly brush and floss your teeth and keep regular dental appointments for routine cleanings.

Other Options For Your Smile Makeover

Veneers will correct slightly misaligned or crooked teeth. But if teeth are severely misaligned, too much pressure would cause the veneers to crack. In this case, you would need to have your teeth straightened first. Veneers are also not a good option if you are missing several teeth. In this case, dentures would be a better option.
